It’s made out of recycled beer cans.

Yep, thinner steel & aluminum.

All for the hope of better fuel economy...

Trucks are getting more and more expensive, but it seems that the durability has gone down, there is more stuff to break, and broken things are more expensive to fix.

I know 2018 has the worst paint I’ve ever had on a vehicle. Look at it wrong and it scratches or chips

Yep, you load a 1x4 in a new pickup truck and the bed will dent.

Gotta get the spray in bed liner, especially if you can afford a new truck.

thats what kills me about current manufacturers and the regulations that compel them.

Less quality
More cost

Funny you mention Toyota. My 2000 Tacoma was actually the most delicate vehicle I’ve ever been around. I loved it, and the powertrain is likely still running, but the paint, body, interior materials would dent, stain, mar, tear if you looked at them wrong. Let a fingernail bump the dashboard too hard and it was permanently scratched. Paint was horribly oxidized in about 8 years despite responsible waxing, clay bar, etc.

My 'Yota has thin paint - white and no clear coat either.
