Close friend got one several months back, and I really like the new body style. Debating trading in my F150 crew cab and downsizing to a Frontier crew cab. I don't tow anything, and I'm a short dude, so don't think I'd regret the mid size.

Anyone here have one yet? Thoughts?

If I was looking at a midsize it is by far and away the one I would get.

Saw one and it looked real nice. The old ones are pretty damn dependable. I have a Titan and it's been really good too. Even if it is ugly.

Not sure if this helps or not, but my dad has a 2006 frontier with over 200k and it’s still running. It still runs amazing for that many miles and age.

Think only thing really major that has been replaced is the ignition coils. Although the stupid shift lock keeps going out and can’t get it in gear.
Pretty sure that has been replaced 2-3 times.

TFL did a review and they loved the 9 speed tranny. They said it rides and drives much better than a Tacoma.

I have a 2018 Titan and love it so if I was going midsize it would be the Frontier. I like the look of them.

I got a 2018 Nissan Frontier 4x4 my son leased and I bought his lease out.
I paid around $20k for a loaded 4x4 truck with 15,000 miles.
Went from an F150 to a Titan to this one.
Really enjoy the vehicle.

I am on the fence waiting for my sons lease to come up on his 2021 Nissan Frontier to buy it out.

I looked at them hard this past spring. Drove one too. My issue is that you can only get the locking rear diff with a package that brings a whole bunch of other un un needed junk, running the price up. You cannot get Just the locking diff. And all but the pro 4 x package, rides kinda low. Interior seemed cheap looking. And they would not budge off of MSRP. It does have the best engine choice.

Don't do it. I traded in a 2016 F150 on a tacoma and hated it. I kept the tacoma only a few months and went back to another f150. I am not a big person by any means, but it was like i did not fit in the tacoma. The room in the f150 cab and bed is mind blowing compared to the mid sized trucks.

I drive a Tacoma, and it’s a small ride. I love it but it’s not the most practical vehicle for most. I’d say a truck that size you almost have to use the bed fairly often because the inside has very little storage.

Again I have a truck in this class, and if I had to buy new today would probably stay in the same class, but it’s feels small compared to a full size for sure. I’m not short so that doesn’t help, but my wife is short and complains about climbing in

Yes, the room in the back seat of my supercrew is huge. With the back seat folded up, it has more room than my wife's suv, I believe.

My Frontier is an older model. The turn radius SUCKS. If I had tried to park it in a tight space on the test drive, I wouldn't have bought it.

I drive a 4-door F150 for work, and it is easier to park than is the much smaller Frontier.

Maybe they have fixed it in the newer models, but I suggest doing some tight turns at low speed on the test drive.

My dad has a 2011 and it turns like a battleship. Definitely made me include a tight turn on every test drive I've driven since.

I have been fairly obsessed about them myself, but I frequent the frontier forum (lurker) to see how people keep talking about 2022 models and there seem to be quite a number of them with problems. They were so popular though that they're basically out of inventory so good news is the 2023s will be out before the end of the year and we can hope they eliminate some of those bugs.

I'm considering trading in my jeep b/c I got in a fender bender that did a lot of "bending." It's just not right after the wreck.

Keep us updated if you get one.

Also, I know you say you don't tow anything, but be sure you won't BE towing anything significant in any reasonable time frame. I tow my SXS from time to time and a v8 would be nice. It doesn't feel like I'm damaging my vehicle towing it, but i will say it doesn't like getting to speed and it definitely could use a little extra power. anything over that kinda weight and you're talking problems for a v6. anything at or below that kinda weight, and you oughta be ok.

Well, that was short-lived! Did some calling around to some dealerships that had some models/trims that I liked... the main one I was interested in was priced 6k over msrp. Next best one was 4k over. I'm not in need, so I'll be hanging on to the ole ecoboost F150.

yeah. i'm fine waiting on demand to drop a little myself. i love the truck itself plenty that i don't need to be one of the first wave of people driving them to enjoy it.

A guy I work with just got one and it’s not bad. I like it better than the tacomas. It is a S model and he paid $34k for it

I like it better than Tacomas, too. I found an SV with the technology package, convenience package, and premium package. Msrp was 44, and the dealership was asking almost 51. I can't justify that for a mid sized truck.

The lease deals on a frontier are really good.
