We are a new dealer and family owned business in Livingston, LA. My grandpaw has ran the business for the past 52 years. We are trying to get the word out about the our newest products and thought I would offer a tigerdroppings deal.

If you come see me and mention tigerdroppings, I will get you $500 off a new Massey Ferguson Tractor.

We also carry Dixie Chopper, Grasshopper, and BigDog lawn mowers. I can get you $200 off any commercial lawn mower. contact

So if someone wanted you to take $500 off a new tractor but didn’t mention tiger droppings, you would turn down a sell?

Mystery shop dealers in your area and back into their pricing to determine what margin everyone is selling at. Then you can determine how much of a discount you could really give. Inventory is crazy low right now so lots of people are holding an above average margin.

Unfortunately post like the first reply make it difficult to do things like this. Many people will just assume you can come down on price and should. They don’t consider that you may have already priced the tractor at a below average margin. Tractors and equipment are fairly low margin deals on the front end

I guess it depends on where you start at. We have been pretty aggressive already with our prices being that we are new dealers, significantly lower than MSRP. As was stated earlier, there really isn’t much margin in new tractors. You count on making money on your service and parts business.

It really depends. First, our margins are already lower than most. Second, there is an inventory shortage right now and I don’t know when we will be able to replace what we sell. Most dealers we have talked to are actually increasing there prices because of this. The point of this isn’t really to make the sale but to learn the most affective places to advertise in the future. Unless someone tells me where they heard about us, I won’t know that.

I live pretty close by.
Great family and a great business!

You can’t put a pice tag on fair, honest, friendly, and knowledgeable service by real and genuine people. Businesses like this are hard to find now a days.
