Nephew gives up medicine to follow his love for the outdoors
I had to post this because I'm one proud uncle and wanted to show off his hard work. My nephew Dr. Brandon Finnorn gave up his career as a doctor a few years ago (about 5 years ago, I think) to follow his heart, which was a love for the outdoors, especially fishing. He has done very well as an artist/illustrator and for the second year in a row his t-shirt design was selected for the upcoming Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo, which is the largest saltwater fishing tournament in the country. On top of that, he was also asked to design a boat wrap for a Contender boat that they will be giving away. I linked a picture of his t-shirt design and the boat below. This is the first time I've linked anything, so hopefully it works. One last thing, Brandon and his beautiful wife Bonnie are both LSU grads! Geaux Tigers!

So he took a spot in Medical School from someone that had a real passion for medicine. He'll probably be on TD in a few years crying about not being able to pay off his student loan debt.

People change. Sounds like he made the best decision for himself.

They do it every year. Enter the fishing rodeo and turn in a fish and you're eligible to win. Also, went to high school with him, didn't realize how talented he is. His website has some great art work.

His website is finnornillustrations.com if you want to check out his work! Very talented! He also did an interview recently that is posted on how he left medicine to follow his passion. It's very interesting!

He's a great kid! He's one of those children you didn't have to tell to study or worry about what he was doing on Friday or Saturday night. To my knowledge, I don't think he's ever made a B in his life, which is pretty remarkable. He would have been a great doctor, but he decided to chase his dream and it's coming true. I'm happy for him because it's taken a lot of hard work to get to this point! I've teased him about being the next Guy Harvey and I wouldn't be surprised if he made it to that point. He's driven but he's probably the nicest person you will ever meet!
