Repeat offenders? Do you know where they park. That truck would not be getting out.

Target shooting would be appropriate but if you want to hunt the land that might hurt your cause.

You must have, in your possession, written permission to be on a landowner's property in Louisiana. It is your responsibility to know that if it is not yours you do not have a right to be there.

I recommend finding where they are entering and place a cellular cam inside your boundary. Also, place some kind of unique marker in the background of the proposed photo location to verify where it was taken. Had to set one up at my lake camp due to "new neighbors". Was able to take several photos to sheriff's office documenting a pattern of trespassing which they could act on.

Have 200 acres of timberland in Union parish that I have done the same thing too. Trespassers there have been a BIG BIG BIG problem for years. I used to be lenient and just run them off but it didn't work and these dudes felt more untitled to my land every year. To combat this I placed more cellular cameras to catch people when I am not there. This spring, my camera sent a picture of truck entering my property, license plate clearly visible, and pulling a large trailer. One hour later I get another phot of driver leaving, with my Redneck Mfg. tower stand on his trailer. Smooth busted his arse and charges were pressed based on this information. Without it I would have been out an expensive piece of equipment.

I recommend you take a zero tolerance policy, just as I have, because it will only get worse if you don't. Don't let anyone take your enjoyment of your property from you.....EVER.

Game wardens do not arrest for trespassing in Louisiana. Dealt with this last year. Called game warden, was redirected to local sherrifs office.

I have a 4 acre pond outside of Pattinson that I’ve been managing for 4 years. Could catch 4-6 pounders at will. Caught a 5 pounder with a hook and a swivel in his mouth. I knew then I had visitors. I got multiple pics of the 4 trespassers. I Alerted the game warden who was able to identify them. All convicted felons. He warned me about confronting them saying it would probably lead to a shootout. They had been selling my fish on Facebook and Game wardens had been monitoring them. Still not arrested. I think game wardens are scared to confront them. So, they’ve fished my pond out.

I also have land in union, Claiborne, and Lincoln parishes.

One year I think in 98 or 99 I had a guy threaten to shoot me (was casually pointing his rifle at me) if I didn’t leave his hunting area (yes it was on my land).

My dad know the gentleman and his family. He called his dad and asked him to meet him at the Corinth church.

When he got there my dad showed him the area where his sons gravestone was going to be located in the cemetery if he ever pointed a gun in the direction of any of our family again especially while trespassing on our land.

Needless to say my grandfather, dad, and various uncles didn’t put up with stupidity back then now we have trail cams everywhere so if something happens we just call 1 of our cousins ( law enforcement in damn near every parish and agency in Louisiana) and let the law deal with them. To many crazy and unhinged folks with guns out there now

I've told this story before but about 5-6 years before my dad died I witnessed him slowly load his shotgun in front of a group of about 10 trespassers on my land. All of them had rifles, mixed group of adults and kids.

He just slowly reached into his pocket and grabbed some shells and just said "Fellas, it's time for you to go" as he slowly loaded it up. It scared the hell out of both them and me. I thought my dad was about to start killing and I was going to have to back him up. They loaded up and drove out of there as fast as they could all apologizing as they did.

Later when I talked to my dad about it, he hadn't realized what he was doing. He said he just unconsciously remembered he was in the woods and he hadn't loaded up and was just doing it unthinkingly in front of everyone.

THey won't get arrested in LA the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd time unless it is hostile trespass or (as is usually the case they outstanding warrants).

don't play games have them ticketed. In MANY parish trespass charges have to come from SO not LDWF

BTW the wife of one of these guys was the SO of a popular charter capt that recently died in a plane crash. One of my friends was involved as an attorney for one of the parties on this case....

I remember when I was very young, playing in the woods, I came upon a pulp wood cutter that had crossed from timber co. land onto Dad’s property and was feverishly working on a load. Told dad about it when I got home. He wasn’t to far removed from his infantry days in Vietnam, so he was in his mess around and find out mood.
He grabs his Win. 30-30 and a handful of bullets and said come show me where.
We went back there and no one was around, just a half loaded pulpwood truck, which my dad proceeded to blow holes in with the rifle. I wanted to try a few shots but he wouldn’t let me. Lol

Prosecution. Word will get around. We had a problem on our place in Tammany back in the mid nineties. Pressed charges on three clowns and problem all but vanished.
