I recently received an old Colt Cobra .38 Special ctg. I'm trying to find out when it was manufactured and its approximate value. I entered the serial # on Colt's website and it didn't really nail it down. Can anyone help ? Thanks

ETA: ser. # 221999

I honestly don't know how, I've asked on the help board to no avail, got a short hand answer from one of the LLotOT but can't get it to work, it's in great shape, if it's been fired at all just a few rounds, no marks on the metal, original wood grips that look brand new

You could use tinypic.com. it's free. Just upload the pic and copy/paste the url for message boards

As above, 1967 is the year. This gun will have an unshrouded barrel and checkered service stocks with silver medallions. The gripframe will be the 'short' type and the stocks will meet underneath the gripframe.

Your gun has an alloy frame with steel barrel and cylinder. I assume blue finish? The frame will be an anodized black.

Post some pics if you get a chance and I can offer further information.

excellent description except the color appears to be black(don't know if that's the same as "bluing",) I took the stocks off in search of the sn and each side had the last three digits of the sn hand written on the inside face, I'll try to get some pics up in a while, thanks all for the input

You pilot one of the most technologically advanced airliners in the world, but can't post a pic to TD...
You're a better man than me, I probably wouldn't 'fess up to that!

I get that a lot, shortsighted on my part I know, but I just figure after operating $300mil, 600mph computer at work, what's the point? I've probably learned more about computers in the time I've been on td than from anywhere else, I've always had computer geek friends to handle any of my computer issues, I'm trying to conform now

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I can't post a link from my phone, but I'm not a jet pilot!
