2015 F150 towing a 5x10 utility trailer. The jack is topwind A-frame that sticks up 12" above frame with another 2" for the handle even when folded over, so 14" high from frame. Im going to measure sike interferences later.

Quick internet search shows some people use extra long hitch while some replace jack for side mount. What does the OB recommend? Are there any options like lower height side wind?

If you arent towing super heavy, I have a hitch that sticks out an extra foot. But you will need to buy a hitch clamp to stabilize the hitch or it creates sway.

I would side mount the jack. I don't think the fold up ones cost too much. Cut the other one off.

Hole saw bit.
Real answer: weld a longer tongue on your trailer, it will make it back up, better too.

my fav answer so far

Factory A frame jack is bolt on so easily removed. Does putting a swing back side mount make it unstable for use as utility trailer (i.e. loading equipment) ?

No, It's fine, just make sure the pin is locked in. Really though, if your tailgate is hitting, your trailer tongue is pretty short.

Alabama redneck solution:

One of these in the tool box mounted on the front of the trailer we stick on top of the jack when we lower the tailgate.
