Looking to move to rural Arkansas on or near a lake. Trying to find a good source for a home or camp on a small amount of land. (I went to lakesonline.com, but it seems like the entries are for large acreage.) Any suggestions?

Don’t know if this helps or not, but my uncle just sold his lake house on D’arbonne and bought a place on Lake Erling and loves it. Might want to check it out.

Not 100% sure yet. I've vacationed as a kid and young adult on Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs, and Little Rock. I am also interested in Bentonville.

Lake Hamilton is overrun on summer weekends. Bentonville/Rogers area is a much better option for a place to live. LR is not bad.

Find some land around Mountain Home. Close distance to Norfolk, Bull Shoals and trout fishing on the White River.

I’m not sure how much acreage you’re looking for, but there is a nice plot on 70 between Bonnerdale and Glenwood. It’s got a small pond and close enough to lake Greeson. Or keep an eye out for 3 acre plots in Kirby which is currently being clear cut, it is even closer to lake Greeson. I’m not sure when they are going up for sale though

Go to Bentonville. You'll love it.

No development at all, dirt cheap real estate, everyone is super humble and not stuck up at all, and they love LSU.

Heber Springs area
Maumelle
Mountain Home
New Blaine
Bill Shoals

I would think all of those would have a place that is not untouchable. But we don’t really know how much you’re willing to spend.

Beaver is almost unfishable during the summer with all the wake board boats.

Anything on the water will be $$$.

My folks live on Greer's ferry and like it

This. You can fish for trout, bass, walleye, smallmouth all within an hour of each other. Plus the views of the white or north fork river is something else.

From one great crappie lake to another. Erling is a nice place.

Thanks for all the excellent replies. Going to be reading up on the places mentioned. I'm not looking for a crazy amount of land. 1.5 acres max. Found lakehouse.com and I think it's a good resource once I nail down a location.

There's actually a fair amount of Louisiana transplants in north Arkansas.

I'll either move to Greer's Ferry area or Mountain Home / Yellville once I'm ready to leave NW Arkansas
