I do. 835 Ulti-mag. It's indestructible, went three + season hunting Venice before cleaning it. This is one gun I will never part with. I also have Benelli SBE-3. If the s--t ever hits the fan I'm grabbing the Mossberg.

My dad has an original and that sucker heavy as shite but he’s laid lots of deer down with it over the years.

I remember the first year he used it to deer hunt with. He had 3 1/2 inch 00 buck shot 5 times at a deer. Next day his shoulder was black and blue.

It’s definitely no fun patterning 3-1/2” turkey loads through it!

I have one. It’s the Turkey gun with the 24” barrel.
3.5”
Turkey loads are punishing.

Mine has actually jammed a couple of times. Would not cycle.
Had to take it and hit the butt of the gun on a tree to get it to cycle.

Me too. A 1996 model with the Realtree original pattern and the forearm with many raised rings.

It broke in 2002 shooting at a turkey. It was the back end of the hammer assembly.

Then it broke again recently. Shell wouldn’t go into chamber. Was hung up on bad extractor. Bought a new bolt complete with extractors, etc. last week.

Works fine now.

I have one from the early 90’s, it is nothing sexy but it is a beast
Have not shot it in several years but recently shot some 3 1/2’s 00 buck through it, and now it kicks a lot harder than it use to, or maybe I am just getting old?

I had one for years. Finally sold it because I had other shotguns I like better. It was heavy, it was reliable and would shoot anything you wanted to cram in it. But if you loaded it with 3.5” magnums it will leave a mark lol

I had a couple of them, never had a problem with either going bang. I traded them for a Browning BPS 3.5", the BPS is heavier but doesn't rattle like the 835's do. Still have a Mossberg 500 I got in 1970 for my 16th birthday.

I have a couple model 500s. Those Mossbergs aren't anything sexy but they don't die.

Bought a late 90's one for a goose hunt in west Texas. Didn't have anything for this hunt, only 12 gauge 2 3/4. Put several 3" and 3 1/2 up to my shoulder and this (Mossberg) felt the best. Never hunted with pumps and took 3/4 volley's on dark geese to get used to it. was deadly and on mark from then on. Don't really shoot anything more than 3" in it. Only problem was a faulty firing pin/pen but Mossberg honored their warranty. Will be left for a grandkid.

Had one. My dad gave it to my as my first shotgun after graduating from the .410 I learned with. It was stolen when my house was broken into when I lived in Mississippi back in like 2011-ish. I lost my dad in 2020 and it pisses me off that I didn't have the shotgun in a safer location. It was definitely sentimental.

Yep, with the ported barrel.

No telling how many turkeys that model of gun has killed in N America.

Bought mine from Simmons way back in the early 90’s. Was in college at the time and didn’t have much money.

Old girl may be garbage but she’s kicked the living hell out of turkeys for almost three decades. I quit shooting it about 10 years ago but I still loan her out to new turkey hunters from time to time.
