I remember these rifles going for like $150 and stores having boxes full of them. What happened? I can't find one anywhere.

You should've been there when Moist Nuggets were going for $80 about 5 years ago.

Think it was more like 10 years ago for that price. I bought mine 6-7 years ago and paid 130 OTD.

Yep, paid $90 back in 2010 I believe. Fun gun to just mess around with but no way I’d pay $150+ or whatever they’re going for nowadays.

Depending upon hex or round receiver, factory location, Finnish, sniper 91, etc., they could be tween $200 a $600.

I have a Finnish M39 Mosin I bought about 17 years ago for $130. About a year or two ago I posted pictures of all the proof marks over at gunboards.com in their Mosin Nagant section. Those dudes knew their stuff. They figured out mine started off as a New England Westinghouse made M91 before it was captured by the Fins and turned into a M39. There are plenty of marks and gouges in the stock that tells the story of a well used battle rifle. I know collectors love their perfect specimens but I love the look and feel of a well worn battle rifle with the scars of untold war stories etches in her furniture.

I remember seeing those at a Rose's department store, along with several SKS, for about $60. Long time ago, and I was lucky to have enough money for a 12 pack for Friday night.

I love mine. I bought a 1939 Tula hex receiver from Cabela's for about $140 about 4 or 5 years ago.

Still spot on at 100 yards.
