If one were to launch in BR, how long would it take to get to the mouth of the river. Of course there are variables but let's assume a sport boat capable of navigating the river .

True that. Debris in general pretty much. Lost stbd engine coming back up river last year to a reallllly thick barge rope floating under the surface

FYI - met a 23 yr old kid in August who kayaked the entire MS River from Minnesota to the GOM in 76 days. Took him 6 days from BR to the Gulf, averaging 30+ miles per day. Longest day paddling was 112 miles On day 72 I flagged down Sam in Destrehan (just past the giant span bridge) and brought him some Clif Bars, water, Powerade, and Jambalaya. Such a cool experience

We ran into some guys in yaks south of Venice a bout 4 miles from mouth of the river.

Rode river from Minnesota as well. Gave em a few white cans. That seems like a long miserable trip

Met some guys while I was running on the levee that were about to launch their paddle boards. Apparently they paddleboard along the edge of the Mississippi for however long and get picked up downriver by a friend.

frick that.

plus traffic and big arse waves from barge traffic. Maybe fog when you get past NO.
