FWS is working because they are essential

FWS are the only personnel in place on an NWR

NWR should therefore be open for business.

Nope. Only game wardens and other essentials. The NWRs will be shut down if you are on it, you will be asked to leave. That goes for hunters and anyone else. People camping, etc

I just called SWLA NWR and they said they were in meetings now about the govt shutdown. There is a strong possibility that the NWRs will be open even in the event of a govt shutdown. Most national parks will still be open. Parks to Stay Open Even If Government Shuts Down

well half the dummies that hunt don't know the difference between a refuge and a wma.... and 75% call em reserves.. so maybe public land pressure will be very light...

Clinton and Obama wanted the public to feel the Gov't shutdowns, so they did shite to make it hurt...

Just talked with Billly at SWLA NWR. He said Sabine will be open tomorrow for hunting regardless of shutdown.
