Ruger’s Mayodan, NC facility has been busy cranking out reintroduced Marlin models, and they have two more to add to their list: the 1894 and 336. The reintroduced models have features updated such as hooded front sights and should be available soon to the public.

First up is the Marlin 1894. This model will initially have a 20" barrel and a 10-round tube magazine. The hooded front sight is fitted with a brass bead. The initial chambering of the reintroduced 1894 will be .44 Magnum with a 1:38 twist, with other calibers likely to come. The 1894 will be available in spring of 2023.

The Model 1894 was the first rifle with a flat-top, side-eject receiver. Originally patented on August 1, 1893 by L.L. Hepburn, it features a revolutionary lever-fire system with repeat-fire capability.

I didn't know Marlin had stopped producing the 336.

My FIL was a big dog hunter and the only rifle he would hunt with was a 336 in .35 Remington.

Democrats want to ban it already.

I do not think that the 1:38 twist is good for the 44. 1:20 is better

I own a Marlin Model 1893 with a takedown barrel (octagon shaped) chambered in .32 special. The serial number dates it to 1903. So I suspect it was an actual fricking cowboy gun at some point.

I've got an 1894 Cowboy (24" octagonal barrel) in .44 Mag that is one of my favorites of everything in my vault.

I watched a video recently about these two rifles. Ruger rep said the 336 would be out before the 94 because the manufacturing process is similar to the 1895 already in production. The 94 is a completely different action than the other two and requires more machining. I really don’t need any more guns, but damnit I see myself owning a 94 one day.

I have my dads that he cut down so he could carry it hanging beside him in one hand without hit touching the ground. Old dog hunter trick according to him.

Ammo for that thing is damn near nonexistent and expensive as hell.

Any Marlin experts here I would appreciate any information on an older 336 I have. Pretty unique. It’s a 30-30 with a 16” barrel and straight comb stock. I looked up the serial number online and its manufacture date says it’s 1963. Someone told me it is a “marauder” but it doesn’t say that on it anywhere

gunbuyer.com has a Marlin 1894 44 Mag for $720

I thought the link said somewhere in spring of 2023, unless this is an older model?
