There is one for sale in front of gene’s tire in mccomb,ms. Its been there for a while. May can get it cheap since its no where near salt water so market is poor for it.

Im not gene or have any connection other than driving by it weekly before i get the hi gene reply.

Budget?
Your length request exceeds bay boat criteria <26’, anything over 26’ is not a serious fishing bay boat. Where will your primary jump off point be when fishing? Ms-Fl will be more fun for short boats than La, snapper, ling, tt can be had with if site of the beaches.

Actually stopped and looked at it for my buddy last week. Its a 20' blaser bay with 175 merc. Wouldn't classify it as 'offshore' but it was a nice looking bayboat if that's what the OP looking for.

How long before you start naming the big snapper that get away, and come here begging for advise on how to catch Leroy the 40 lb snapper that's 3.5 yrs old and all the old timers around the camp say can never be caught, though?

the 26' Glacier Bay and 26' Twinn Vee are very good offshore boats for the price/length he is considering to get started

That size range and wanting bay fishing capacity I would look at catamarans. I had a worldcat 266 that could fish in 3 ft of water but also handle 3-4’ seas quite well. Paid $33k for it in 2014 sold it two years later for $34k. Find a solid older hull that has been repowered

I agree with the above, 26 foot range cat would be the ticket. Worldcat/glacier bay/twinvee.

Just make sure to do yourself a favor and get the center console, don't waste your time with a cuddy cabin that will do nothing but collect junk and have a musty smell no matter what you do.

Client bought a 26 twinvee in Covington back in 2017 for $20,000 with warranty on the yam 150's. Would be the best option for a inshore/near shore boat reasonably priced. The 150's were worth more than he paid for entire unit.

Be warned If you go glacier bay or worldcat they are some heavy bastards on trailer. My 266 worldcat was 9k lbs on the trailer. Held 240 gallons of fuel too not to mention they are tall once out the water and with a t-top. Regret selling that hull often though...

Late 70's Mako 25. Look in south florida craigslist. Buy any hull as cheap as possible and spend $20-$35K restoring it with an outboard bracket. The late 70's Mako 25 is, in my opinion, the best pocket fisherman ever built...very dry ride, stable, well built and the hull flat out raises fish...as good as any hull ever built and tournaments wins will support this. They are not rare either...you may find one already completely restored and ready to go....they were a BUNCH of them built and sold....and they are still very popular. I don't know how late the same hull was built...some research should show when the hull changed but I think it may have been as late as the late 80's, Great boat that will not disappoint and for $40k it will fish as well as any 6 figure pocket fisherman.....

Absolutely...that's is the hull of dreams LOL...in a 25 foot boat. I think that one may be a little pricey with a 2008 engine but it is pretty low hours if the meter is correct. There have been a BUNCH of fish caught off that hull. I had a buddy who had one and we kite fished on both sides of it….its not as beamy as fishing 2 kites needs but with some prudent addition of lead to the corner of the kite it will work. Add outriggers and radar and that thing will raise fish as good as the best hulls made and more importantly will get you there and back and do quickly and with pretty good fuel burn.

23 Foot Version

That one is ready for power but it is a 23 foot boat with the cuddy cabin....not ideal but if the hull, transoms and stringers aren't destroyed that would make a helluva offshore boat....the outboard bracket makes it basically a 25 without a bracket...I think the dimensions and hull design is identical to the 25 only 2 feet shorter. For $2750 even if the stringers are gone and it needs a complete rebuild it be a great hull...and you could convert the cuddy to an open bow then....
