I wasn't worried so much about theft as I was about fire, so I went with a large Mesa(72x36) with a 1 hour fire rating I think, weighs 890 lbs.
PS- They fill up quick.

getting one into where I want it is the problem. It is going to be real tight when I make the turn from the hallway to the bed room.
May have to put it in the front room but rather not

I can dig it.
Mine is behind a cattle fence(serious), then a metal gate which covers a garage door, then it's tucked behind storage shelves and protected by a monitored alarm.

Mine is a liberty Lincoln series. It weighs over 1klbs. I can't say enough good things about it.

I've been looking hard at these and the AMSEC. Seem like really good safes.

I have the Liberty Fatboy jr. Very happy I got that size. You can actually use those furniture sliders to move it. You will also need to think about anchoring it to the slab. The door is most of the weight, and mine was a bit tippy, until it was anchored. As stated go as big as you can! If you have several scoped guns, space disappears quick.

I like the Liberty Fatboy Jr but it is too big for me to fit in where I need to go. 40 x 24 will be a tight fit (Cannon 48) Liberty is 42 x 25 and may not fit. I like the Liberty Fatboy Jr for the size, the weight, Mechanical lock, and the price. 1200 more or less. I think the Liberty lock is a better lock than the Cannon but even that is debateable upon all the reviews online.
The Cannon from Tractor Supply is big and priced right at 999. Compared to all the other Big Box Store containers it really is no different. They all are just home security containers made from 12 ga steel. Some have more locking bolts but are still just home security containers that any pro can get into with enough time. For home use, smash and grab deterent, I think any of the box store brands will work fine. It just comes down to size and price.
I think this weekend I will go pick up the Cannon from Tractor supply.
