Looking for chocolate lab puppy

Any recommendations on where to find a good chocolate lab puppy in Louisiana?
I live in north Louisiana but I’m willing to drive.
I don’t plan on turning it into a duck dog but I do want a good obedient dog.
And how much is a good pup? I really don’t want to spend more than $500.

Look up Bergeron’s Cajun Labs in new roads. They have chocolate litters pretty often. Last I heard was around $600 for a pup. But they’re great people and you will get a good dog. Call them at 225-223-2008.

I just picked up a Black off the Facebook group " Labrador retrievers in Louisiana" They have a ton of labs in all colors.

Go to a shelter. They are FILLED with labs and beagles usually.

You can absolutely find a great Lab for that price. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. I found the best Lab both hunting and temperament from a breeder near Ville Platte for $500.

You don't have to spend that much to get a good obedient dog. As many mentioned there are plenty in shelters and being fostered in rescues.

I think Wild Wing Kennels in Hammond has some but no clue on the price.

I do not recall the actual name on the papers. The last name of the owners was Aguillard. I will check and report back.
