Cottonmouth = water moccasin

Moccasins = cottonmouths, copperheads, and cantils.

not so much, but thats why biologists use latin names, people from different places call the same thing diffrent names

Unless you want to get anal retentive with Asian moccasins, yes, so much. Moccasin is a common name, and in the Americas it is generally used for those three species.
