So I’ve been hunting at this new lease for the past 3 years. I don’t get much time to go because of my wife’s work schedule, so I try to make the most of my trips. Last year I didn’t kill anything and this year I missed a die on a very easy shot(I pretty sure I pulled the rifle) , I am going up later this week but I was just curious if anyone had any such bad luck?

It’s starting to mess with confidence a little.

Hahaha, I mean it may sound stupid, but I guess I’m just trying to get out of this bad streak I’m in.

That’s all

I shoot to my expectations low, but I mean walking away with nothing sucks. I try not to take any from my friends even if they offer, because I feel like they killed it they deserve it ya know

It's been probably 5 years for me. I get basically 1 weekend a season and it's usually pretty early on when all the bastards are nocturnal.

It’s not looking good for me this year, but that’s due to me guiding my son and my wife that suddenly wants to be Fred bear (rifle). But honestly I’m really enjoying them being around so the sacrifice is easy.

probably been about 18 years, i've been only a few times since then. only had one time where i had a legitimate shot but it was a brush shot and I didn't want to injure the deer. my buck fever is back and I really want to get back into it, especially since I have a 6 year old son

Since my boy turned 6 I haven’t shot 1 in 3 years. I basically guide him now. He will not let me hunt morning or afternoon without him. He’s killed a few and loves it so I’m happy. As long as he keeps the freezer full I’m good not pulling the trigger

43.5 years for the win. Killed beau coup hogs, ducks, and other game, but the got damn deer still eludes me. If I don’t get one this year, I’m paying for a hunt next year.

I’m 28, so 28 years. I’ve only been a few times, I’m a duck hunter.

I enjoyed the few times I went (all when I was a grad student in Georgia) but never saw a deer. Shot a bobcat once which was pretty cool. I’m too ADD to sit and truly get into it.

I hunted public land all my life I went 15 years without killing a deer. Since I switched public area I have killed at least 1 deer a year for the past 5 years. Over the past 5 years all the deer I’ve killed have been bucks. I usually don’t see many does usually just bucks. Between my 5 spots I’ve seen 18 does and 4 bucks this season. I still haven’t been presented with a decent shot. So I’m at a big zero for this season.

OP, you are what we always called a “good member”. You seldom show up and never kill anything. You’re critical to a good hunting club.
Deer hunting, like a lot of things, is about time. If you don’t have the time to spend, it’s hard to be successful. You’ll probably be able to go more as kids grow up, etc.
