have no intention of hijacking your thread but if you use a climber, the Treewalker is the best out there. Just sayin.

We had that conversation last night at our camp. Everybody who uses one swears by them.

you have a bar up front your stand is not faster than a Lw handclimber. I’ll race you anyday and twice on Sunday and beat you easily. It really doesn’t matter if it takes you extra time usually but I’m just saying. I can cover 2-3 times the distance especially coming down than someone in a sit and climb.

Ascending and descending are 2 places where im fine with losing a race.

For me, in an API, a harness is not needed. I stopped using lock one. If I still used those, I would use a harness.

Api uses the pin and chain, right? My cousin had a pin shear on him. He was just getting started climbing so he wasnt hurt but it could have been bad

Yes. Don't know what happened with your cousin. I doubt a pin sheared. Most likely user error.

A fellow in our club fell 2 years ago because of a sheared pin, It can and does happen. He spent 1 month in the hospital, took him 6 months to be able to walk without assistance he will limp and hurt the rest of his life.

A pin sheared, bud. I hope it never happens to you but denying its possibility doesnt make you safe.

He is right about 7 times more than you are right!!

AlxTgr 2 different guys are telling a story about your stand with the same issue. Sheared Pin. Your counter is that "it didn't happen"?? Really??

In all seriousness, AlxTgr you really should wear a harness man. They make really light ones that you barely notice. You carry insurance on your car and home right? Why not your life in a treestand?

I used (but hated) the harness that came with my climber. Then I bought this one from HSS and its comfortable enough that I don't even notice it while I'm wearing it.

Here are the stand incidents that happened to me or immediate family members, all of us assumed it would never happen to us.

My uncle blew both his knees out when a band on his climber snapped.

Dad had his spurs cut out and he slid 20 ft down the tree and had to get about 200 pieces of tree bark removed from his arms and hands

Cousin had the pin shear on his API but he was just starting the climb and no injury.

I had a weld crack on a summit platform when I got on to it

It doesnt matter if you've done something without issue 1000 times, the potential for accident is there whether it be equipment failure or user error.

Have you not seen how much absolutely false BS is posted on here? There is no telling what happened if anything really did happen. So many possibilities. If anyone changed pins, then it doesn't matter. I do not believe the story, period. Fine by me if you do.

I have the old API. It's the Bowhunter though, so its actually "lighter" than yours.

It's still too heavy.

And it's loud.

You lie.
