Working on a major home reno project. Looking to setup an account with a local lumber/hardware supply company if at all possible.

Any suggestions? Preference to one that can deliver, or allows for subs to pickup paid for items.

Holmes? Service Lumber? any others?

TIA

It's not complicated. I've got a beam/framing plan and hired the framers for the labor. They don't care where the lumber comes from...and it's a large enough project that I'm not dealing with Home Depot/Lowes.

Clearly a newb, service lumber is not a lumber yard/ building supply as you are thinking of, picou is a great lumber yard that has a ton of does/ millwork etc and service contractors extremely well and deliver all over BR etc, I'm warming up to Holmes, I find the to be service oriented and well stocked. We use Stine on projects in the lake charles area but not familiar with them here

Stine is great in the Lake Charles area while the Walker, LA falls short of the Stine service other locations offer.

I like dealing with Holmes (John the owner) is a great guy and service oriented.

In Gonzales Sorrento Lumber does a real good job.
Picou and Puppera also do a great job.

These guys will take care of their core builders first.
Just plan well and expect a mid day or late afternoon delivery instead of first run.

Martin Lumber is the only choice. You may pay a little more but the quality and service is second to none

Stines or Holmes are okay. They both have issues with service IMO, but their material and prices are okay.

86 Lumber is more like HD/Lowe’s, but their prices were pretty cheap.

Picou is good as well, but were a little higher than Holmes/Stines.

We use Holmes all day every day. Now, we go out of the Denham Springs store instead of BR because we get better service from there. Unless it is a special order, we order one day and it is on site the next morning. We have tried just about everyone in town at one time or another, and keep going back to Holmes.

John is an old friend and an old Baton Rouge High guy. I’ve bought from him for a long time and the only other I dealt with much was Ed Price and now Holmes bought it.
