I'm not a big spender on rods. I had two Falcons that both snapped on fish and their customer service was too much to deal with do I never replaced them. I couldn't justify the extra cost when the increased performance was barely recognizable.

$50 AllStar and Castaways are all I need. I do have a nicer rod for my worm tod for bass fishing, but I stick around $40-$50 for almost everything else.

A custom rod in your hand with grip of your choosing and you will not look at them on the shelf again

Given a choice, I go Castaway, but I do really like those.

Really liking my Salinity series from Waterloo so far; split grip casting 6' 6". They have lots of high end rods but Academy has their lower end.

for a cheap rod all stars, castaways, and ugli sticks can't be beat. I've also had good luck with the H2O express i purchased for my sahara 2500.

now is where i will be different from the rest. i would not buy a falcon. I had a buddy that had two falcon hd's break on him and i recently had a falcon break on me. Neither he nor I have ever broken a rod before this. It may be that model but i ain't taking that chance again.
