Can anyone recommend a leather pancake holster for the shield? I've got one for my 1911 that I really like but finding one for the shield has been an issue. Something like this...

any local leather shop should be able to make you one for under $100.

I looked at that one, but was wanting one more like the pic above. I really like the brown color.

Came across this while searching a while back and liked the look of it. Haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.

DeSantis website
or Craft holsters if you want something custom. Craft does really nice work.

Been needing a new belt and looking for a holster with an extra mag pocket... So I just ordered the Versacarry 50% off combo deal that came with the belt.
I'll try to remember this thread and post some feedback when it comes in.

ducksnbass,
You're a man after my own heart, buying leather over synthetic. Some questions you'll need to answer for yourself: do I want full custom? What's my budget? How long can I wait?
Personally, I don't have an OWB holster like you're looking for. My only OBW is a quick removable pancake . OTOH, I've bought other holsters from a number of makers that I can recommend, including: Side Guard Holsters, R. Grizzle, TT Gunleather and Little Bear Custom Holsters. I don't yet have a holster made by Simply Rugged, but I will some day. For factory holsters, Desantis and Galco are pretty good. Look at how well the holster is molded to the outline of the gun. Get a holster specific to YOUR gun model. I like my leather to provide full coverage of the gun like the one in your pic, as opposed to one that leaves a good bit of the barrel/slide exposed. I also like for my holster to have a "sweat shield" to protect your body from the gun. Side Guard calls this feature a "side guard." To me, it lessens irritation from the gun rubbing on my side. I also prefer for most holsters to have a cant like the one in your pic (instead of straight up and down). And if you don't already own a good belt designed to carry a holster, get one. Little Bear's leather carry belts are nicely priced and high quality. I've got 3 from LB and am very pleased w/ them.
ETA: I accidentally left off Bear Creek Holsters I've also been pleased w/ the holster I bought from them and can recommend them.

As always 100% on point.
Only thing I can add with leather holsters.
Make sure get a reinforced mouth, ie a piece of metal they put in there to hold it open should you ever need to register your pistol. It really sucks when that nice leather holster collapses and it takes 3 hand to reholster a pistol.
