Yeh, that makes no sense at all

Still wouldnt make sense. That deer isnt field dressed even. So you wouldnt leave a deer intact with guts all night

I bet the article has some facts wrong. They usually end up posting some 3rd hand information.

Yeah its just funny how he says its getting dark and that he was 50 ft up a tree(i doubt this). So the writer mustve taken some liberty. Looks like he took some liberty calling that a 10

Probably had a walk in cooler to store the deer

Should have field dressed it but not an unlikely situation

In a climber, I've gone 30 and it's all I wanted.

50 I doubt it

I don't think I could do that. Even with a harness I wouldn't.

Yea that Glynn Harris contacted me once about my wife's kill on my DM's. Never messaged him back but somehow he got all her info about it and posted my wifes kill anyway. I let him hear about it for sure. All I got back was " I'M SORRY"

I've gotten close to that rifle hunting on the edge of customers before. It isnt bad if the wind picks up. It isnt good to be that high with a bow though

From the looks of the pic that deer could easily be gutted. Prob taken down for pics after hanging overnite. Beautiful animal

I'd have to agree with you on that one

Agree,looks gutted in pic

That said I would bet my left nut he was nowhere near 50 feet high and connected with that shot. At that height, on flat ground he would have shot high on that buck, due to the extreme downward angle. I usually hunt from @ 25 ft high (bottom of climber) and it's already affecting shots inside of 20 yards at that angle. At 50 ft up it would only be worse.

Still a great buck though Jelly looking at those brows

Deer looks field dressed proably hung in walk in cooler overnight. Also no way he was at 50 feet I never seen anyone hunt from 50 feet. Most people that say 25 are actually about 18 to 20

50 feet up a Sycamore.

Damn fine buck regardless of how high he was.

True. I know I get an honest 20 -25’ up because I measured out my pull ip rope attached to the bottom of my climber. When I feel resistance as I am climbing I know I’m about to pull my bow off the ground and it’s time to stop, if not maybe drop down a foot or two. See more deer close and get away with more movement but the trade-off is worse shot angles at close- in deer, especially <10 yds
