Well not Millerville (Baton Rouge), but our Bama OBers need to start polishing that resume.

Kimber HQ moving to Troy, AL

Surprising they lasted so long in Yonkers NY.

Troy was chosen for, among several reasons, its proximity to engineering schools as well as pro-gun, pro-business support from the city of Troy and Alabama

No joke, the revolvers are probably the best thing they make. The 1911s are mediocre and the rifles are way overpriced. There are smoother rifles for cheaper.

You go T-Roy ... great news for a small, fun college town. Spent many weekends in Troy watching my brother QB the Trojans

Their 1911s could sure as hell use that.

I disagree.

I think their 1911s are complete garbage.

Had a Desert Warrior that never ran right and their customer service is worse than their build quality.

I’ve been thinking about buying a Kimber Montana but have heard their quality has also went south.

Can anyone comment?

I’ve heard some rumors about this for a few weeks now. Glad it is official.

Right up to the name change. Both my diplomas say Troy State University but some buddies of mine that graduated shortly after have Troy University on theirs. I started in the fall of ‘99, and apparently this was soon after they ditched quarters for semesters. Graduated in spring 2003 from undergrad and summer of 2004 with my MBA. I was actually working as a GA the year the name change was announced and had to go to the press events to take pics and other things for the website.

I still think they make some of the best mountain rifles for the money. Great carriability (if that's a word) and above average accuracy. I would hurry up though, Montana stocks have dwindled.

They do look nice.

For their cost and looks, you'd think they'd be a better gun.

General internets consensus is that they are nearly always well built, and either very accurate or not accurate at all.

I imagine they will be addressing that during the relocation. Its a great time to update tooling and make some build process changes.

I hope they do. Everything else about the 8400 from a design aspect is perfect.

Friend got a good deal on a new kimber 30.06. Nice looking gun and it’s a tack driver at 100yds

Good for Kimber and good for the folks in Alabama. I love my Kimber rifle. Maybe I just got lucky with a good one

The talkeetna is a beautiful chunk of do-anything rifle. If it weren't for the rumored quality issues I'd have saved up for one.

I've never shot one but every kimber I ever handled seemed perfect. I think they are the best designed off the shelf rifle available.

So do I.

I hope they rethink their customer service, too.

I'd pick up another Desert Warrior if I knew they'd stand behind it.
