I checked online, then I went to a few local shops. No one had anything in stock. I ended up ordering a S&W M&P 9MM from BassPro after seeing it in here.

I wish the stimulus money would come out where I can get another gun just in case Biden wins.

Did you get your gun in a decent amount of time? Any delays or problems with the shipment? I agree about Biden winning and that is a big reason I'm looking to get a gun. The problem a lot of people have told me isn't finding a gun, but finding ammo to put in it!

Dang dude! Thanks for the info. You make a lot of sense. I think I'm going to try both and go with the one I feel most comfortable with. Thanks again for the info!

Academy in Richmond Texas had plenty of pistols. Plenty 9mm for under $500. Fwiw

No ammo though.

I am a home based FFL dealer in Mobile, AL. Finding a specific gun locally is difficult right now. I can check with my suppliers and see what 9mm are available if you'd like. If you can find a Canik TP9SFX, I would recommend that pistol if you want a gun strictly for home defense. It is a full size competition firearm that holds 20 rds and is under $500. For conceal carry, the Canik Elite SC is awesome. I also currently have 1,250 rounds of 9mm available.

It took about two weeks to get in. I picked it up at my local BassPro store. I have another 9MM and I had already bought extra ammo for it. I was looking for a compact 380, but getting ammo for it was even harder, so I got the 9MM instead.

I just checked and it took about 7 days to get my 9MM from BassPro. They have several brands available for ordering online and shipped to your local BassPro store.

Ruger Security 9 is a good option for what you let describing. I think they’re like $329 at academy.

I have the Glock 45 and love it. G19 slide length and g17 grip and capacity. Comes with 3 magazines and a decent case. The Glock 45 also accepts any Glock (unless smaller capacity) magazine while the 19x does not. But if you want the desert tan color go for 19x...

My 19x takes a 17 mag. Just pulled the gun out to double check.

I “think” the 45 and 19x are the exact same save for two things.

The 19x is tan and it has the lanyard loop.

Get a Canik TP9 series gun.

Very reliable and durable, plus about 2/3 the cost of a Glock/Smith/...etc

Probably not a Gen 5 17 mag then. Those magazines have an extended lip to give more area to grab with the earlier Gen 5 cutouts, and they don't fit the 19X.

45 has front slide serrations, flared magwell, and doesn't have the maritime spring cups that the 19X has.

45 also has the MOS available.

Do you think you might be getting your hands on a Canik TP9SFX anytime soon? If you could check on the other 9mms that would be awesome too! Thanks for the great info!
