Rut is kicking up...
Edit: this was killed by one of our members. Drove by as I was heading to the stand. Posted the picture in a hurry before walking in and forgot to put that note.

Yea, I’m pumped.
I hunted my little place in St. Helena the last couple days and saw some young bucks chasing.
I’m headed to our place in Waterproof now for the long weekend. They’ll be chasing hard in Tensas the next 3 weeks. If I remember right, last year I noticed them chasing around December 12 and they were in full rut around the 22nd. If I remember correctly, this is the same weekend it snowed and ice last year. We killed some nice deer that weekend when the snow and ice melted.

The conditions are going to be perfect for my stand this weekend to go along with the rut firing up in NE Rapides Parish. I usually don't get this excited to chase deer, but I'm freaking pumped.

We’re right on the Tickfaw at LP/St. Helena line. We’ve had several huge deer this year.
