I’m certainly no expert. But I killed two last year on evening hunts on pipelines. I put a couple decoys out, set up , and call every 15 or 20 minutes.

Something seems different this year. 3rd year I’ve hunted this property, and it’s been pretty damn rare to go a morning without hearing a gobble. 2 hunters , hunting separately, and we haven’t heard a thing and only seen hens.

In some states during the spring season, turkey hunting is not allowed after 11 am each day.

Over here in Alabama was very windy. That often times will reduce gobbling activity so don’t get depressed if you didn’t hear anything today it will get better.

Cold and windy isn’t a great gobbling scenario.
