i have already talked with him a while ago and i want either him to put on paper or me pick his brain throughout the year and get a broad guide on what to do for southern yards. something a page or 2 long with enough information to get a typical OB poster through a typical year.

**I am not putting correct information below just an example of what information the guide would give.***

Somthing like this.
quote:

Fall: apply grass seed (explanation of common types)
fertilizer (which ammounts, brand types)
Winter: pre emergant ( brand types)
early spring: fertilizer( again ammounts, brand)
spot spray herbicide( types brand)
etc.

Generally speaking, right now everyone should be making sure the fall webworm/armyworm/cinch bug infestations are being controlled (via Bifenthrin or carbaryl). Pre-emergent (Simazine is a good, cheap one) should go down by Thanksgiving. If you have had any fungal issues in the past, late fall is also a good time to get ahead on spring fungus by putting down a good fungicide (chlorothalonil, thiphonate-methyl, etc)

So, I have centipede creeping into my back yard that used to be 100% St. Aug. I like this development. Seed heads are forming. If I want even more centipede, do I let the seed mature or is that even a thing? Or, can I just mow it now?

I see you recommend putting a pre emergent out. If someone wanted to reseed the lawn when would this take place?

Also, I will add this for the bermuda folks out there... You need to start raising the deck of your mower. You don't want to be scalping bermuda, going in to dormancy.

In the last two weeks my St. augustine has gone to shite. I have weeds popping up everywhere, and a lot of it is Virginia button weed.
