Respect for those baws like you out there who aren't cozy in a box stand next to a heater.

Just bought this place in March . Didn’t want to put up box stands until I figured out where I see deer. Have already been checking out box stands for next season though.

Nothing wrong with that. I don't like box stands.. I hunt on the gound or in a climbing stand 99% of the time.. In my area the bucks and some does shy away from stands and feeders. I change my location every couple hunts.. good luck guys I'm working tonight so I decided to stay home this morning.

Sit yesterday from 530am until 445pm in a lock on. Spent the next 2 hours dragging out a deer. Was 21 when I hit the field, got up to 41. As long as you layer and put hot hands in the toes of your boots its fine. Saw 2 does and 3 bucks in the am. Kept busting me because topography and tree set up kept the wind swirling, moved stand 50ish yards and was able to get 9 within 30 yards for the evening hunt. That is why I'm such a big fan of lock ons.

Then I screwed up and mis-identified a buck. I had let him walk 6 times this year, but didn't get a good front profile so thought he was bigger. Oh well I'm quoting Fred Bear on this one. "Any animal with a bow is a trophy".

Hate is an overly strong word. Just a little more respect for the guys who hunt in the same weather as the deer are living in. Sorta bow vs gun.

When I win the lotto and can buy a few thousand acres on Davis, a rule for my guests is that no one over the age of 15 or under 65 gets to hunt out of a heated blind. Being cold as shite with numb fingers is part of the memories made hunting.

Hell this time of year I'd shoot him. I sat from 9 45 to dark yesterday and had one bust me about noon. Wind was swirling and 20 mph.

Psssh. My indian neighbor in Oklahoma, Runs With Horses, thinks you are soft for not hunting barefoot and stalking the game with an old poison dipped re-curve

Everyone has a line drawn somewhere. My buddy Tuktuc from the 9832BC things your indian friend is a pussy for hunting with a recurve bow. Tuktuc only hunts with stob from a hickory tree.
