Carthage, MS, tower blind over corn trough. Hoping to see the fat pig of camera fame. Been seeing this fatty, in daylight shots, for 2 years, no one had laid eyes on him. Late start due to oldest losing keys to camp vehicle and my not able to ride a 4 wheeler.

.270 Winchester Model 70
Conditions-typical morning. For July. Temperature gauge in blind says 68 degrees. Observations says gross

Just finished watching 3 Jakes and 6 hens feeding in the food plot for 20 minutes or so. One of the hens is a white one. Little Cubbie got a big kick out of that. :-)

Now he wants to be a Turkey Hunter, LOL.

68 degrees
AC rolling
Recliner with cup of coffee

On call for work today and gonna knock out the last of Christmas get togethers.

Will be back in the woods tomorrow and itching to check a camera that's on a scrape. Last year I had big bucks I've never seen before show up and check it during the rut. Ready to see if anything is coming around that's worth pursuing

Zero movement today. All of us saw animals yesterday, nada today. I'm sure the 75 degrees (and climbing) and swirling winds aren't helping. Should have stopped by the Bass Pro in Denham and picked up a camo wife beater to wear. Everything I own is too warm for this crap.

I walked outside at 4:30 this morning, went to put my trailer on my truck, then went back to bed.

I just don't have the heart. But it looks like I have to wait to Thursday PM if I want it any cooler.

Same setup
Ground Blind watching rice bran.
Browning B80 with slugs.

Plaquemines Parish
76 degrees ESE winds at 11.
Thermocell rolling. Mosquitoes everywhere.

Better than sitting on the sofa...but not by much. Heats got the rut shutdown looking for anything with horns
