Happy new years. Itawamba county, ms

In some pines that recently got thinned but there is still a lot of understory so the deer travel it. Up against a big thicket with a Greenfield in the middle of it. Kid missed a big buck in the field on Saturday. The wind is right and I had a short quiet walk in without disturbing anything.

.444 crack barrel because to hell with trailing

Climber in hardwoods, marlin 30/30, between pipeline and field on the only semi-dry land left. Not looking too good for the rest of the year with the two feet of water in the woods.

Deer have moved good the last half hour. Had a good looking 8 out a few minutes ago. Waiting for that main frame 10 that busted me the other day. Would love another opportunity at him.

I haven’t seen a thing. Afraid I messed up getting here too early and bumping everything out.

Just had two does come blasting past me. Got the bow up and ready...three damn no collared dogs come trailing them.

My hunt may be over early

Not my best, but given the dogs running around and seeing what must have been 15does with dogs on them he got it when he was trying to sneak by. Meat in the freezer boys.

I’m out here by my house hunting some slash water for a little 9-11:30 mallards action. Have killed 2. However while I was adjusting my dekes a minute ago I had a hawk come down and grab one of the greenheads out of the tree I hung them in and tote him off. Damndest thing I ever seen

Nice buck.

Can’t get into our property until Friday. Pray for it to not rain much this week.

Happy New Year!
