Is the Sierra match king 175 gr bullet okay for deer hunting?

I will be hand loading. Only bullets I can find in stock.
I have shot the 168 gr match points by federal before and had no problem killing deer. I’m guessing it’s very similar?
TIA

Almost every bullet between 100 and 220 grains is okay for deer hunting.

It’s a bullet really made for shooting paper. Not bonded to the core. Still okay?

May get no expansion at all, may explode on impact, may kill better than anything you have used in the past. Fact is Sierra doesn’t recommend them as a hunting bullet. They are not designed for controlled expansion and penetration. Proceed at your own risk.

I ended up finding something different. Thanks

Lol it'll kill the shite out of a deer, yall talking about expansion like he's moose or grizzly hunting.
Unless you're hunting 300# monsters you're fine.

It doesn’t take much to kill a deer.

I don't think you'll have a exit problem with that. Solid bullet and should have very little expansion.

I found some Barnes ttsx 168 grain on midway

I know you found Barnes 168 but the matchkings, may not be ideal but I’d guess you pushing it around 2600fps unless your barrel is 20” or less.
The jacket would probably separate butter bullet would likely still have enough for a pass through.
Not sure why but I answered thinking you were loading a .308.

Its fine for deer. They are pretty thin jacketed and basically a re-branded target bullet similar to any other match bullet minus the hollow point. They have shot better than anything else in the half dozen rifles I have tried them in. The deer I have shot with them showed violent expansion/fragmentation and bang-flops.
I'm assuming you are shooting a 7 mag? If so, that's probably the perfect deer bullet for that caliber. Its heavy enough to mostly hold together and still drive deep

Yea but the guy is shooting deer with (i assume) a 7 mag and 175gr bullets. It will be more than fine for that.
I shot a few deer with 165gr game kings with. 30-06 and I would have a hard time arguing with the results. Very nasty violent kills with 2 exit holes on the first one and about 10 on the 2nd one. Bones and blood and pieces scattered everywhere. Not what I like to see, but there's no doubt its VERY effective at destroying 150 pound deer.

Funny, I edited my post. I assumed he was shooting a .308.

.308 sorry
Those 175 grain were all I could find. Got lucky and found the Barnes bullet I normally shoot on midway
Would never have considered the Sierra bullet for hunting if not for this bullet shortage

So same caliber I used, slightly heavier bullet going a little slower. Not what I would chose for elk but will be fine for deer.

Sounds like the kind of shite you need to load in your personal defense guns.

My .223 reloads are just that only Hornady Match in 68 and 75 grain.
I want the bullet to expend every bit of energy inside what I'm shooting at.

Yea they would be nasty for that use. The deer I shot with them were very fricked up. Far too much destruction for me, it looks like you put a grenade inside the deer. One had busted guts and I hit it right behind the shoulder perfectly broadside. Red meat jello and bones and guts and stuff everywhere.
The core is very soft. The exposed tips get all buggered up really easily but it doesn't seem to affect how they shoot. I always recommend trying them if you have a rifle that doesn't seem to like anything you try. They have been the most accurate "hunting" bullet in every rifle I've tried them in.
