Temps running in the upper 80's during the day and low 70's at night. I know some say it needs to be in the 90's but I need to get something down to kill off some weeds.

What kind of weeds are you targeting? What kind of grass are you spraying?

ETA: Reason I ask is because we've got Tall Fescue. I normally just used 2,4-D and don't have a problem. MSMA will cook some shite if the temperatures are too hot. Of course, that's up here in Kansas.

I'd probably go ahead and spray now before it gets any hotter.

Shoot, good questions. I assumed he was spraying on bermuda to kill other grasses.

If it's broadleaf weeds, I'd used 2,4-D. If it's other grasses, I'd go ahead and use MSMA, but I'd use it conservatively.

Honestly, 2,4-D is foolproof up here. MSMA is something you really need to get right or risk ruining some shite. This is why I dabble in livestock and not agronomy.

But since I've gotten a break in all the rain up here, and the temperatures are in the 90's along with 25 mph winds every day, I've dropped the deck to the ground and sprayed on some RU-365 (I got a shite load of samples) for the annoying spots I have to hit with the weed eater. Living in the country has its perks. You don't have to keep up with the neighbors on whose lawn looks better.

That's a fine looking lawn.

It's a hell of a lot nicer than tall or fine fescue. I'd rather buffalo grass than what I have.

Yea it's Bermuda. We finally have a dry few days so wanted to get it down. I have a mix of all kinds of crap coming via the neighbors yard. Buttonweed, sedge, Dallas and some crab.

I may ask if I can spray over a little in their yard just to get it under control

Fertilize and cut it at 21/2. Took me years to make myself get used to cutting it that high. People would tell me but I was too hard headed.

Don't they say to cut bermuda as low as you can to promote growth? Just wondering how high I should start cutting mine. Guess it's 2 1/2 for me now after seeing yours.

If you have a reel mower you can cut it shorter. I have a constant fight with keeping deck level. If it's off a bit, it shows with bermuda cause the blades of grass are close together, unlike st, aug. I've considered throwing in the towel and going a different direction more than once.
