Increased boat launch traffic

Thank goodness fishing hasn’t been taken away from us (yet?), and I am all for people getting out to fish, but my God has the number of boats at the launches been crazy.
I’m use to 6 other trucks on avg at my local launch, it’s been more like 25-30 and that’s week days.
Anyway, tomorrow looking ok to get out and chase some reds, what’s everyone else going after?

On some lakes, the number of available launches has been reduced.

week days
It's just days now. Every day the same. If the wind is down and it's not raining then it will be packed.

Last Saturday, the diversion Canal was the busiest I have seen it in 19 years of living down here

Yep, every day is a weekend for many folks right now. But I am surprised with so many out of work they can afford a fishing trip.
I know just about every trip I've been on eats up at least $100 dollars between fuel to tow the boat to the launch, launch fees, bait, ice, fuel for the boat, etc.
Looks like not everyone is hurting being out of work if they have that many lined up at the launches.

JBE threatened to drain Toledo Bend and other reservoir lakes because too many people are fishing and the gas tax is too low.

yeah well, when all of this is over and everyone is unemployed, you'll have the water to yourself.
let them enjoy it while they can. When they have to sell all of their shite, they'll realize while it may have been fun for some, the cure was worse then the disease.

Great isn't it???? I'm also retired and my days are pretty much mine to do what the hell I want. But, most of the time I really prefer to hang around the house taking care of things around here since my wife is not of retirement age yet and works 5 days a week.
There's enough to do around the house between maintenance and the things I do so she doesn't have to do anything when she gets home.
I'll jump on my motorcycle and take some day rides or hop in my truck and head out to the river and do some fishing since I have no boat-------and don't really want one.

because not everyone that gets the Kung flu dies. And a lot more people are going to be ruined or broke than are going to die from the China virus.
And I’ve been poor before. It sucked. Bigly. And that was when things were good. I can’t imagine being financially ruined in a depression era.
But this ain’t the board for that discussion so I’ll let it go. Enjoy your time off.

odds are higher you will get struck by lightening twice in the same day then you dying from carona
some people just have to be drama queens and think this is worse then the black death from history

Fair enough and I agree. No days off for me. I'm busier than usual with my job and my wife is working full time as well while we try and entertain a 2yr old. This whole thing sucks major arse. I wouldn't care if I caught it but I'd be depressed AF if I passed it to my pregnant wife and 2 yr old.
Making matters worse is the Bonnet Carrie spillway opening. I'm just hoping to fit in some spring time fishing before my big trout areas are covered up in that dirty water
