Nola link. Might need subscription. Will change it later.
LINK

15 fish,13.5 inches. Will post link when available. There is a period for public comments for now, I will post the link below. I don't disagree with changing things but it should only be done one at a time and not size and limit so the effect can be measured. Measuring half inches is retarded.
public comments

I really dislike having to measure 13.5". My ruler doesn't have it.

This report is from someone saying they saw it today on Fox 8. Still trying to get a link to confirm.

It won’t cancel any fishing trips for me in the future. I suppose time will tell whether it works or not.

very dumb. I don't see how they can consistently enforce the 1/2".

sounds great for me

i will now keep everything i catch and no longer follow limits based on politics rather then science

next time i catch 35 trout, i keep 35 trout, they threw out the science so i wont follow their stupid made up rules just because bubba cant catch a fish

and what good is having a link for posting comments when its already been voted on and passed? a link to the official statement with new rules is what we need

EDIT - turns out the OP was wrong and it was just a procedural move to be voted on, in order to bring it up for an actual vote. that is why the public comments link was added.

After I catch 10 or 12, I kinda quit fishing and start drinking beer pretty hard, so this really doesn't affect me.

Those days of catching unlimited 11.5 inch trout will turn into catching unlimited 13 inch trout.

I don’t really understand the size limit at all. Wouldn’t it be better to take an 11” trout out of the population vs a 14”? Idk about y’all but I don’t feel great about the survivability of a 10” trout when I rip a treble hook off its face.

It's more about if and how much they've spawned at that age, rather than survivability of a released fish.

What politics shaped this? What evidence do you have to suggest their science is wrong?

I hope you do, and hope you are caught. I'd love to be the person to turn you in.

it should be the first 15 you catch no matter the size.

This isn’t like snapper fishing. I would rather not keep the small 10” dinks.

If you are worried about the small
trout just pinch the barb. I have been doing this for years and it makes releasing fish effortless.

I think 14" would be better than 13.5.

I agree 14” would have been better. I would have also liked to only 1 fish over 22”. I rarely use a ruler. I have an old piece of SS tubing with electrical tape on it. (16” long). I’ll just need to move the tape.
