FYI, there's a BJ 256 on the Baton Rouge Craigslist

That's a fine rig and I was considering it for my next boat. that being said I sea trialed the new 2600 blue wave pure bay and its in a whole different class. its wider and longer then the BJ 256. both boats are fine rigs but I find the blue wave to be laid out better and have some nicer options. they are both priced about the same as well.

when im ready to go a bigger boat it will be between the BJ 256 and the blue wave 2600.

the blue wave 2600 isn't a hybrid either. it has a traditional bay boat feel.

I fish a 2400 Blazer Bay. Worth a look. The 17 degree dead rise makes it a good riding boat. The rolled gunnel knocks down a lot of the spray as well.

That boat is built on the old kenner 23v mold. It's a shame that they cost so damned much now but it's a time arse rig

I wanted to fish about 10 miles off last weekend, it was blowing 15 sustained from the SSE and we were going due S. My 6 year old and I woke up, launched our 24 pathfinder into honest 2-3s at 4s with white caps on everyone. We made 22 mph on the way out,

You didn’t make 22mph into real whitecapping 2-3s @ 4sec in a 24PF.

Not with a 6yo.

Agreed. That's a bumpy ride even in a 31ft CC.

Not to mention you would be soaking wet after doing 22mph, into what I assume was a head or quartering sea, with a 15mph wind

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who read that and thought it was BS. Especially with a small kid.

Are you the same guy who ran in “true 8 footers” in Lake Pontchartrain a few years back?

Yellowfin not a great fit for hybrid in LA. Doesn't handle offshore well at all, I had a 243 and it does but is not a very fishy boat (rod holders etc). Caymas or blackjack would be better.

Whatever one draws the least amount of water for the skinny bayous.

Did you not order it with enough rod holders?

I used to be in that court but here lately I've gone the other way. I'll sacrifice more draft for a better ride. The past 2 years I've done excellent on redfish and marsh bass without mudriding or beating the banks
