Prob saw 3-400 today from Cleveland ms to Vicksburg.
Backroads.

River has them pushed everywhere.
Counted 11 bucks, almost ran over a nice 8 at about 1pm... tons of deer everywhere.
Had to literally stop one time and let 9 does get across road.

I drove through the delta on Monday and was amazed at how many I saw. One field had to have at least 50 deer on it. Saw plenty dead ones in the side of the road as well.

I went rode around Tuesday evening. Onward west down Hwy 1 to Hwy 465. Took the levee south to the closed part, back out the same way. We saw 500-600+ deer, probably 100 rack bucks or more. No exaggeration. Every field had 10 -50 or more deer, bucks everywhere. I have no idea how many we saw, but the numbers are NO exaggeration. Definitely most I ever saw in a day. We went in March from Mahanna to Eagle Lake to Mayersville, Lake George/Panther Swamp and through the Delta between 1 evening and next day/evening and saw ~500 but bucks had dropped their horns. It was crazy to see 6,8,10 rack bucks in so many fields with no sign of rutting, just feeding.

From the delta to BatonRouge huntersmade CWD look like a mosquito bite this year.

With the high water I’ve seen many monarchs killed after being jump shot on dry land in high water.

9k acres of Cat Island WMA hasn’t been hunted in 4 years. They are hammering it

CWD

I wonder if having them herded up like this will spread CWD faster?

I was up in Indiana near Bloomington many years ago visiting a friend and he took me out in the rural areas one night up in hill country to show me how many deer there were.

We were in Amish country for some of the ride and they have massive fields planted in crops and it was lousy with deer. I didn't even try to count them, but they were around every turn in the road.

Used to love the ride from Woodville through Natchez to Vicksburg. Some of the best whitetail hunting in the country.
