I am looking to make a few brushpiles to take the kids fishing. Anyone know where I can get some willow trees or bamboo? Thanks.

You might as well wait 'til Christmas and collect a few Christmas trees

Getting harder to find it seems to me. Ask some older country folk in your area, they can usually point you in the right direction. I’ve seen a good bit of older men over the years use them in gardening.

I rather bamboo too, don’t get hung up near as much.

Christmas tree branches are too close together. Much easier to get hung up. There is a reason all the guides use willow or sweet gum trees.

Janky, just send me some coordinates when you're done. If I make the drive up to Many one more time and come home empty handed I quit

Xmas trees are the worst brush piles to fish that exsist...think about how many times you have flipped a jig into a Xmas tree... I bet you haven't had many bites.

Bass don't like Xmas trees.. There are a few reasons why... They don't like pine much either.. It's the sap In Xmas trees and pine trees that gives off a pungent odor, to the fish... Also, like the guy said, there two tight with limbs, not spread out at all. Fish suspend in the branches of trees, alot.impossible to do in a Xmas tree. There hard to weigh down too. Alot of people use a 5 gallon bucket and put limbs tied together vertical in the bucket, then fill the bucket with sac-crete then obviously water. Let it harden and lower with a rope or just try to get to stand up under water somehow..

If anyone's got an idea on how to make it stand up on bottom, I'd like to hear it

Christmas trees don't last 30 minutes on the street in my neighborhood. I need to start following these baws to get their sacalait spots.
