I need new cellular game cams. Ive been running the coverts for a couple years and they are slowly starting to play out. What is everyone running and how do you like them? I would like to stay under $400 per unit.

Also, Im intrigued by the cuddebacks that connect to each other and can just check one. They would work well at my house for ease of checking. Anybody use them?

The small cameras that come with the spypoint system are junk. Picture quality is bad, trigger speed needs help, and we put a covert right on top of it and caught more deer slipping thru the same area that the spypoints missed. Knew something was up when we put the spypoint system in the woods and our picture rate dropped by half in a weeks time. I am currently trying to get my money back from spypoint for the 2 crap systems we bought. I am not the only one that has experienced this. DO NOT BUY

It won't be a popular choice but I recently bought a wild game innovations Crush 8 camera for ATT and am very pleased with it so far............especially for $200. It's only been a few months so I can't speak to the longevity of the camera. My expectations were tempered for a $200 camera but I'm impressed. If I miss a few pictures so be it and I'm not concerned with being able to count the ticks on his arse. I can count the points and get a general idea of age/size so I'm happy. It took about 5 minutes to set up with the ATT SIM card. It takes D size batteries and I have not had to replace them yet. I have it set to text me pictures 3 times a day but you can also have them sent each time a pic is taken.

Does the crush cam work from an APP. That is how covert works, unless you want to pay an additional .03 per text. Thats not happening with 3000-4000 pics per month

o I added it to my family plan. Unlimited text directly to my phone. I think it's $15 a month

I get cell coverage across my lease in varying degrees, but I can't get cell cameras to work on 100% of the place. Cell cameras I have used:

Spartan HC cameras
$400
Monthly fee to Spartan
3 month plan with ATT - $25
Pro: works great, has a great app and website, easy to use, long battery like (3 months). Also it survived being submerged in a flood for 2 days.
Con: cell coverage needs to be at least 3 bars, have to pay Spartan to use all the features such as remote change of settings, expensive

Synper Commander 3G
$220-$250
3 month plan with ATT - $25
Pro: cheaper, works at 1 bar or less of signal
Con: setup wasnt super easy, app isnt the best, can only text to 1 number and rest of hunters use app, night photos just average.

All in all my next wireless camera would be the Synper. They came out with a Commander 4G ($320) that has 14x signal strength that I would like to check out.

Cell cameras are fun but a lot of time they don't send 100% of every picture they take. Unless you have great cell coverage at your place, you may experience issues with any camera sending pictures.

I have decent coverage for the Crush 8. It works on 3G. I think I have 2 bars. The Snyper was going to be my second choice if the Crush didn't work.

I have a Covert Code Black, and it has been up and down over the years. When it works, it works great. When they moved to an app, it was a LOT better than the texts. Lately, it has stopped sending pics to the app thought. Spent some time with customer service last week, and it has been working fine since.

I'm looking to buy another, not sure if I want the 2018 LTE Covert or move over to Cuddeback. Our property is about an hour and 20 mins away, so cell cameras have been a wonderful tool for us.

The new cellular Stealth Cams are really nice and they work with Verizon and AT&T. Typically the cameras will use one or the other. They have a super fast trigger speed and the clarity of the photos was surprisingly good. Also, Stealth Cams customer service is killer. I have called a number of times since getting my cellular cameras and they are always helpful and patient. They have an app that the pictures are sent to.

I would go to trailcampro.com and review all of the cameras and then make a decision.

I was checking out the cuddeback links last night and reading up on some reviews. Has anyone had any experience with these? It’s a pretty cool system, being able to have multiple cameras piggy backed and sending all pics to one modem and then emailing from there. I think a setup like that, if it works properly, would be phenomenal for not messing up deer movement or turning them nocturnal by checking cams every week.

I have two Spartans on ATT. Work great, just probably not the cheapest option.

I set 2 of these yesterday before we left the ranch. Pretty happy with the first set of night/day pics we got. I do think the quality is going to fall off once we move them from the protein pen close quarters to the foot plots, but I guess that’s to be expected.

The setup all in was around $380/each for everything. Added the SIM cards to our AT&T plan as data only tablets for $10/month per cam.
