Went In looking at used guns and on sale guns since it’s tax free weekend on guns/etc.
start eyeballing an original m&p. I like it. Seems small. I ask for something bigger.
We look at the full size m&p 2.0 and the shield.
Neither felt great.
All of a sudden, he pulls out a Springfield Xd-M. I instantly fall in love with the 17 plus 1, and the extended grips. came with 2 extra clips also with extended gripes, as well as a Springfield field bag.
No tax, $399 out the door.
They had it at 579.99 plus tax.
Also got a 50 box of HPR’s for 32.99, a clip on holster for 29.99 and some FMJ’s for $10.
How’d I do

You bought a gun. That’s never a bad decision.

Pardon my ignorance, but upon further inspection it seems I simply got one extra magazine that only holds 13.
One holds 19. I assume the 19 is for a “full size” XDM? I suppose I’ll buy another full size so I can have 2 19rd mags as well as the “sub” size.
I really was hell bent on a full size gun and still may see if I can return this one for a full size m&p 2.0.
As far as full size goes, the Sub XDM comes with an extended pinky grip that makes it feel very much full size.

Wow.
Started playing around with it but and I’m incredibly un happy.
The mag release button, is so hard to press that you have to re adjust your grip and put full force into it. Doing it while shooting or one handed is impossible.
Here’s to praying they aren’t scum tomorrow and can try to get this right.

So the mag release works as intended? Either that or you have burger king hands and no finger strength.

Return the gun and walk out. You don't seem experienced enough to own one.

yeah, if you take both hands off the gun and apply your entire body weight to the release button. Seems very tactical and ready to reload to me huh?
Stfu.
Google it. It’s a very common problem with these guns.
My “Burger King hands” have worked more in a few hours than your life.
These guns are notorious for a difficult to release loaded mag, I found out on google.
Supposedly a few hundred rounds through it should help and I’m hopeful so that I don’t have to send it off to Springfield.
frick you dude trying to call me weak when I discovered a problem even your pussy arse couldn’t figure out. I’m sure you’re so manly you’d never even notice it was near impossible to make release.
The OT is for trolling and being a dick head.
Go back, nobody wants you here.
And yeah I’ll meet you at sonic right now Ive been wanting to whoop an idiots arse lately. You seem like a good candidate.
Stop breathing air and do us all a favor please.

$399 is a great price. If you hate it, post it on bayoushooter and it'll be gone quickly.

Why didn't you check the mag release before buying it? That's something blatantly obvious to mess with. And you didn't spend two seconds looking at the extra mag you bought? Jesus man.

Hopefully you learned not to impulse buy guns. Do research before buying next time.

Eta: I wouldn't call the store scum. You're the idiot who bought a gun you don't like

How would you compare the new shield to the old one?

I did check it. Several times. Unfortunately they don’t let you load a clip in the store, and then try to release the mag.
It’s fine with no mag or with a half loaded mag.
Would only consider them scum if I were to go back tomorrow and get told to kick rocks.
But it is a local gun store I’ve used for years, however a .444 I got from there had firing pin issues, and they were quick to send it off without being much help.
I don’t want a brand new gun that’s been repaired. I want a brand new gun without any manufacturer defects.
Now if it really does just take some “breaking in” to get it to easily drop a full mag, I’ll be happy. But if it’s only my gun and it doesn’t resolve itself quickly, I’m going to be upset and expecting a new gun.

It was an impulse buy, but I did know what I was getting. I had 3-4 guns selected to choose from and chose what I thought felt the best and was the best bang my buck. The 19+1 and 13 rd clip is very nice. Will likely get another 19+1 and a 32? Rd clip ( I believe) to go with it.

If you put as much effort into pushing that mag release as you did ranting about me, it'd be broken in by now.

Well, load it with just 18 if you feel the need to constantly eject a mag. Otherwise, realize that you will rarely be ejecting a full magazine when you're not just dicking around with the thing.

All of my pistols stay stacked full 24/7/365. I'm not jamming a mag in them when SHTF. If it's not loaded, all you have is a pointy rock
