When you drive to Pierre part, right before the Exxon on the bayou there's a huge cypress, just look at the rungs they but up that tree and how high. Pigeon had some too.

I've hunted 45 of 60 one season.

Usually make 30 plus hunts on average. Decent blinds though... No barrels.

Years ago in N. LA, there was a fire lookout that was a platform in the top of a 110 foot pine tree. You reached it by climbing slats nailed in the tree trunk, like a backyard treehouse.

At one time I had a five year average of 45/60 but hunting out of a barrel in a tree, I have not!

Thats not about being a hard core duck hunter, thats about not having a place to hunt.

I'm not debating that it's a fact. I'm just saying those minor details don't matter in the grand scheme of great hunting seasons of which I was convienently unemployed. Which by the way is also an answer to the OP...
