High fence along I-10 in Florida

First time driving in Florida and for forever past Pensacola there is a wooden high fence on both sides...
To keep pigs off the road? First state I’ve seen anything like this. Can’t imagine how much that sucker cost. And sad part is most of it is covered in brush and vines. Looks like they don’t maintain it at all

I always thought it had something to do with military property.

High fence along most of I-10 in the panhandle. In our area it is wooden post with hog wire, 10' tall to keep deer, pigs, etc off the interstate. Paid for and maintained by FDOT I believe.

I'm sure some state legislator's brother-in-law has the fence contract.

I saw the same thing this past weekend and assumed it had to do with wildlife.
