I recently drew an ELK tag in Colorado for this fall. I am very familiar with firearms but never owned a muzzleloader. Can anyone recommend some options for firearm, peep site, powder, projectiles, ect..

Any list of items I need to get started. My goal is to be proficient at 50-100 yards within the next 2 months.

TIA for any help.

Are there any restrictions such as no sabots or no in-line muzzleloaders allowed?

Some places have restrictions like that.

Yes. No pellets. Powder must be loose. No Sabots. No scopes. Thinking of a peep site.

Good advice.

If inlines are allowed Gander Mountain in Auburn has a metric ton of inlines, powder, and sabbots etc at 50% off. IIRC they had at least 6-7 different rifles still on the rack Monday. Not sure if your local GM has the same but worth checking out.

Borrow a rifle from a friend. Plenty of MLs around in Louisiana and Mississippi.
