Handheld VHF recommendations

Anyone using one? Any thing I should be looking for besides waterproof a floating?

I am looking too. I am going to find the best rated one around $100 on Amazon and call it good, unless someone here has a better one. Its all short range and I think 5 miles will be lucky on a handheld.

A good dash mount unit isn't very expensive. I have my GX2400 networked with my GPS and you can share the AIS data and GPS data between the units, it is very useful.
