Glad you got it but if you keep your eyes open you'll probably see this price in other places. Loomis recently updated the E6X line so the previous generation is hitting the clearance shelves.

So after he gets decent components shipped and frets over the proper guide spacing and takes time out of fishing to build the rod, he'll be in it for more than he just paid.
Not sure I understand what you're trying to say. Loomis makes good rods by hand and will replace them for basically the cost of shipping even if you slam it in a tailgate.

Loomis especially has a wink nudge agreement that their dealers are allowed to sell their stuff well under MSRP, they just can't advertise it. Just about any tackle shop that carries them will make a deal off sticker, and at those prices they're about as good as it gets. I own a couple now and couldn't be happier with them.

Great Find!
I have a 7' casting E6x and I like the rod a lot. So much so that I will be buying an E6x spinning rod when I can find the right model on shelf.
Looks like I'll be swinging by the Academy near my office this afternoon.

I found the same deal about 4 months ago and I have searched every other Academy I’ve been in to no avail.

I believe they do sell blanks under the name "Northfork Composites". But nothing that comes close to $25 price mentioned. In fact most blanks listed on the site are $150+
