I'm about to have one written up. Just wondering who on here has a trust and their experience getting the trust established and experiences acquiring NFA items through the trust.

ATF is in the process of possibly changing how trust work...

I have a trust I had set up to purchase some suppressors. I used a lawyer out of NOLA that I would highly recommend.

Why would you need a trust? If looking at a young person to give a gun to, just do it now. What would happen if said kid turn out and ended up in jail?
I already told my kids on which guns goes to who. I even turn over all my land to my kids besides my house. I'm just trying to protect there interest over time. I'm not that old, but I have health problems.

This is for NFA guns. Machine guns, silencers, short barreled rifles...

Folks get trusts for NFA weapons and suppressors. The ATF is currently trying to whack that all up. In LA one needs an attorney to set it up, usually about $300.

If you setup a trust and but NFA items through the trust anyone that is a trustee can legally possess the items in the trust.

Better make a will and spell that shite out. After you croak it can be complete bedlam if they don't get along, or agree with "what you told them".

Also, having a trust allows you to use the ATF's efile system. Which, according to some folks, is currently running @ 4-5 month processing periods. Which is a hell of a lot faster than going the individual paper route.

This is what I'm trying to get set up for and possibly an SBR build later. With all the proposed ATF changes to NFA item Trust purchases, I figured now id the time to get it set up and get my paperwork in. Did you use Mouthpiece?

Sure did! Would highly recommend using him.

I did the spreadsheet attachment to the will on the firearms. Kids' names assigned to each one. They can swap amongst themselves after the fact if they wish.
