Gun Racks in Pickup Trucks - Still Legal?
Posted by AlwysATgr on 2/20/18 at 4:58 pm03
Haven't seen one in what seems like decades. Are these still legal in states?

And maybe crew cab trucks. You didn't have a good place to throw them in old single cabs. Now, most trusted source have plenty of space I'm the back.
Plus, it's hard to reach one if it's on the back glass in a crew cab. Increases the level of difficulty while road hunting.

I've got a Big Sky Rack, but have yet to install.
I was in Academy around Christmas, this old timer was looking for one for his great grandson who was getting a little used pick-up for Christmas. I tried to locate them to no avail. We found a salesperson and after several attempts at trying to describe it, I ended up pulling up a pic on google. The little salesman said the don't stock them and advised that it wouldn't be a good idea, bc if the kid accidentally left a gun in the truck rack at school, he'd be expelled and probably arrested. The old timer was stunned he sighed and walked away mumbling under his breath.

Don't buy a plastic one for the back glass, those are shite. The whole damn thing will come crashing down in a slow curve.

We used to sling our guns in. those and park at school after a quick morning hunt. Things have changed.
Had that discussion with a local sheriff this morning. I graduated high school in the mid 1990's, and this was the norm during dove season. Things changed quickly after that.

in my hunting truck i have one that hangs on back of my front seats so the gun isnt visible. Holds 3 guns
I have these too. Has pouches to hold stuff too.
Saw one the last weekend of deer season in MS a few weeks ago. Guy and his girl were in an 80's model chevy stepside driving just ahead of us. Had a shotgun and a bolt action rifle. First time in years I have seen one.
