Gun cabinet/safe in hvac return closet: ok?

Trying to find a place to put a gun cabinet, would an hvac return closet in an interior hall be ok? Shouldn't have any issues with humidity, huh?

Actually in the return(filter) area? If so, the air hasn't been dehumidified at that point. Seems you'd be asking for rust.

it pulls air from inside the house which is conditioned already.

True, but the most moist air in the house is going thru the r/a, correct? JMO.
