What sort of grunt do you have success with drawing in deer? Short bursts? Longer? How often do you grunt when in a stand? Pre rut/rut/post rut?

If there are no bucks in sight I typically go with 3-4 short grunts in a row, pause for a minute, then repeat once or twice more. If I see a buck and am trying to draw him in closer then I’ll go with a deeper and longer grunt to try and get his attention.. Don’t really do it much outside of the rut, but definitely have had success with it during the rut.
