I have a trip scheduled to Grenada Lake at the end of March. We are fishing 2 days. The first day will be with John Harrison from JH Guide Service and then we will be on our own the second day. Anyone ever fished with John? What about Grenada? Any suggestions about what to do after fishing?

I hope you get some responses to this post. We were talking yesterday about going over there to fish.

I was told it is a very well managed lake with lots of monster slabs of white perch. John told us to be prepared to wader fish so of the day and they last week of March was the best time to be on the lake.

Eat at Jake and Rips if you are staying in Grenada. It's not "amazing" but it's all they have.
Hope the fish are biting when you go. My father has fished Enid most of the week (he's there now. i'm meeting him after this pot of coffee) and went to Lake Washington on Friday and didn't have great luck
Edit: he only jig fishes for crappie

I live in Grenada. I don't fish much but i know the crappie fishing is great.
Go to the Kennel club for dinner, it's directly behind Jake n Rips and the same owner, it's just a more upscale dining experience (if we have that at all Grenada lol).
Lakeway is also a pretty cool hunting store to check out and kill some time.

Lakeway will match or beat any price on guns, bows, etc.
There is a reason why the World Championship Crappie Tourney has been held there. The crappie fishing is phenomenal.
Eat a lunch at Spencer's...good burgers and shakes.

Grenada lake is a damn fine lake for crappie fishing...I work in Grenada a good bit and see tournament boats at the hotel frequently. Grenada is a very small town, so don't expect much entertainment or fine dining.....but you won't starve while you are there either!
While I am there, I will usually have lunch at 333 Resturant ( which is country style plate lunches) and dinner at the Kennel club (which is a steak/seafood type place).
The tiki bar used to have a damn good ribeye, but I think it is closed.
Haampton inn is the best hotel there.
If you have specific questions, just ask.

I remember a small dam where the fishing was supposed to be good? That's all I got.

I got a buddy who fishes over there. The wade fishing can be great. He said they wade up small creeks and slam slabs in a couple of feet of water. Your timing should be good.

Going out with Grenada lake charters in a couple weeks. I will post results. Should be awesome as warm as it has been this year.
BTW: Crappies Masters Tourney will be in town March 23-25 so there will be a shite ton of boats. But when they are on it doesn't matter much.

Thanks for the info! Should be a good couple of days! Grenada Lake Charters looks like a great place, we tried to just stay there and not use their guides but they were full.
